About Harrogate
The HG postcode area, also known as the Harrogate postcode area, is a group of postal districts around Harrogate, Ripon and Knaresborough in England.
Harrogate is a large, wealthy spa town in North Yorkshire, England. The local travel links are located in the town centre to Harrogate railway station and Harrogate Bus Station. Leeds Bradford International Airport is 16km (10 miles) south west of Harrogate. Also, the main road through the town is the A61, connecting Harrogate to Leeds and Ripon.
The Yorkshire town of Harrogate is a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors with the spa waters, which contain chalybeate, sulfur and saline and the Harlow Carr gardens. The town originated in the 17th century, with High Harrogate and Low Harrogate as two separate settlements.
It lies close to Knaresborough and is in the Nidd valley.

Harrogate was the winner of the 2003 Britain in Bloom in the category of Large Town. From there it went on to win the European Entente Florale competition in 2004. This reprises its win in the first ever Entente Florale competition in 1977.
Harrogate is a well known inland resort for its parks and gardens. The main park in the town is Valley Gardens, in Low Harrogate. The park covers much of the area originally known as Bogs Field, an area where a number of springs were discovered. Valley Gardens has a number of attractions including the Ice Cream Parlour and Childrens Play Area with Outdoor Paddling Pool. The Sun Pavillion skirting the northern edge of the park can be privately hired for events such as wedding receptions. A golf course, crazy golf, tennis courts and bowling green can be found towards the eastern end of the park.
